sweet-tongued = smooth-tongued – A sweet-person with a pure heart is an asset to the society/organization/country. On the other hand, a person with an impure heart filled with self centered and conceited thoughts is called a sweet-tongued charmer who can be very dangerous.

A true and genuine is described as: With a sweet tongue of kindness, you can drag an elephant by a hair.

I agree with Bob that it has two meanings. A sycophant who is otherwise called a sweet-tongued charmer can be compared to a pot filled with poison but sweet on the mouth. He is described as:

When in reality, you are possessed
Of a self-centred and conceited narcissism
