Default I'll say!

hello everybody here.

please; look at these following sentences in a conversation:

man1:Our teacher's assistant really went out of his way for us.

man2 :I'll say!

the questions are :

1- What does man1 mean?

2- What does man2 mean?

many thanks in advance.

#2 I'll say = you are agreeing with the statement = emphatically yes, he really really did exceptionally well.
