If you gave a presentation, then "presentation" is the right word.
I divided the presentation into multiple topics and assigned two to John.
Hi,
Question:
Should I use "presentation or tasks"?
If both words are incorrect, can you suggest a correct one?
Sentence:
I divided the presentation / tasks into different topics, eg, history of the firm, recent news and the future.
I allocated 2 topics to John.
My opinion:
I feel it is strange to say "split the presentation into topic". However, if I use "tasks", this will suggest "different topics constitute the tasks" which doesn't make sense.
Thanks

I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
