Yes, and no! Contradictory is a perfectly good word for 2 statements that give opposite ideas. However, the example you give doesn't give 2 opposing views.

The house price is high/the house price is not high = opposites.
The house price is too high/the house price is not high enough = opposites.

I wouldn't say these statements (not 'explanations') were contradictory. Given that each statement is an individual evaluation of the house's price, they are both correct statements of the person's opinion.
I would say that the two people disagreed rather than contradicted each other.

However, the context is important.
