Default Pull it off

Hi Teachers,

Can u pls explain how to use "pull it off" in some examples? I hear this all the time on TV (reality shows) but didn't really get what it means. I looked up my Oxford Learner's Dictionary, the definitions and examples are absolutely making no sense to the context on TV. Does it has any slang usage?Or what is its commom usgae?

Speaking of "pull", which of the following it correct

1. "pulled a trick on u" or
2. "pulled out a trick on u" or
3. "pulled off a trick on u"

Thanks

It mean to manage to do something successfully, especially when you're not expecting to.

We were so far behind that we didn't think we'd manage to meet the deadline, but in the end we managed to pull it off.

I'd use 1 if you just mean that you tricked me and 3 if you were lucky to manage to trick me.
