| I would provide plenty of examples and carefully explain them. That is how I would learn it best. Suppose I am a grammar (elementary) school student. How would you explain to me the present continuous in a future context so I can understand it? :) |

I hear complaints from a TEFL teacher; she's unhappy about her Turkish teacher because he's teaching phrases like "Ali is learning to swim". First, problem, the phrases aren't useful to her, and there's no real context. Now, she's bored and frustrated with her teacher. Iain |

| The present continuous for the future is a failry simple matter- it's used for appointments, etc, when they have been made, so it's a question of suplllying contexts, etc where it is used and contrasting it with the other ways we talk about future time. |
