Exclamation Suggest

Hello everyone, could you help me with this doubt?

Is this sentence correct? If not, how would you correct it?

"I had suggested the pizza to her".

I was thinking it would have to be: I had suggested that she try the pizza. But I don't know if this sentence can be correct.

Thank you so much,
Cristiane Vicentini
