The children were waiting in line to get their cheeks painted by a local artist who was decorating them with tiger paws.
(This happens in a zoo.)
I don’t understand the sentence. Was the local artist covering two tiger paws with his hands? What pictures was he painting on children’s faces? I think maybe I haven’t seen such things in my country, so I cannot understand its meaning.
The artist was painting tiger paw prints (i.e., footprints) on the children's cheeks. Here are a few pictures of face paintings: http://www.party4fun.com/facepainting.html
I understand!!Thank u!
