"Going forward" is an expression that's become more popular in recent years in business, government, etc. to mean "from now on" or "starting now".
I think that part of the reason is that "from now on, do X" has a little too much emotional connotation. It reminds me of something a parent says to a child when they've done something wrong. "Going forward" is businesslike. |
