    Hi

    what does this time expression mean?

    "in record time"

    and also

    "for hours upon end"

    In record time = it took the shortest possible time to do.

    For hours upon//on end = more or less what it says: a period of time that lasts for many hours in sequence.

    I sat and played on the computer for hours on end - I started at lunchtime and stopped at midnight.

    The birds sang for hours on end. We could not get to sleep for the noise.

    I am not sure what it is you find difficult to understand; Hour after hour would say the same thing.
