Smile Do you have the drive and tenacity to run for public office

Dear teachers,

I am writing to ask the meaning of the following sentence.
Do you have the drive and tenacity to run for public office.
--Does the tenacity here mean the "licence or ability"?
--What does "drive" here mean?

Thanks

Emily
