Question transformation

Please explain the following pattern in transformation of sentences.
Given : She swept the floor. No one asked her to.
Answer: She swept the floor without being asked.
I would like to know whether the above answer is correct, and if correct, why we need to omit "to".

We do not need to omit it: it is simply optional.
