pay in heart
In a school of Fine Art, people ar gping to paint two persons with ice cream and then lick them. The announcer says "You used to lick for freem but now I'm here to tell you it's not"
Then she goes on to say:
"You used to pay for them in heart,
in joy, in degradation.tonight you're going to pay for them in greenbacks"
What's the meaning of "pay in heart, in joy, in degradation"??
Re: pay in heart
"You" are going to pay an emotional price instead of a monetary price.
