Smile Origin of two expressions

This website is really good! Thank you so much for all your help. I have a question again: What is the origin of the following expressions - "bedroom eyes" and "make one's blood boil"? THANKS A LOT

Default Re: Origin of two expressions

The idea of the blood heating goes back, I believe, to medieval ideas about the functioning of the body, where things could affect the temperature of the blood. I don't know the origins of 'bedroom eyes', but the association with the bedroom as the place for sex is obvious enough.
