Default phrases -meaning

Hello,

Could you please explain to me the meaning of the underlined phrases?

1. No 1 had suffered one of the greatest upsets in a singles match since David loaded up a sling.
2. .....who have lured such a lustrous line-up.
3. He should forsake her customary courtside perch.

1. This is in reference to David's sling in Biblical times. That's when a young boy by the name of David killed the Philistines with five stones shot from his sling. The Philistines where armed to their teeth but the boy managed to kill them all with just a sling and stones.
In other words the game was a huge upset. No one expected the end result of that particular match ( whatever it is).
2.Need a little more background here. Line up can really refer to many things. Can you send us more info on that?
3.forsake = forget about, abandon, give up

Again, I have very little to work with but:
customary means that the person visists the court quite frequently.
courtside perch = place in court where the person would be found sitting. Perhaps the person is back to court after being charged with something time and again??

Here is more information on #2 and #3.
2. In fact my appointment to meet Phil, the president of Advantage's athlete representation operation, had been made before the afternoon's drama to discuss the attractions of a company who have lured such a lustrous line-up.
3. Who decided that Molitor should forsake her customary courtside perch?

2. an exquisite clientele, well-to-do patrons, customers, investors???
You will have to figure it out on your own. They are talking about some upper class folks.
3. I got it all wrong...courtside perch refers here to the tennis court space right outside the playing area. Perch = a seat in that area.
