Do you think the sentence below makes sense?
Criminal law was one of the focal points of my law studies at the University of X.
I'm wondering whether there can be only one focal point, or whether one can say "focal points" to express that one specialized in several fields of law.

I would say that is absolutely fine. You had several points that you focused on, therefore they were focal points.
