    Default strange expression

"Getting a seed round from a VC"

What does this expression means? Its a title of video about venture capital. But what does it have in common with seeds? "get seed round" seems like a nonsense to me...

In this context it means that you acquire enough capital from the VC to start the new venture - it seeds the development of the company.

Seed money is money used to start a business. It is like a seed is needed to grow a plant. One gets money from venture capital groups. I suppose that the meaning here is that you can get money to start your business from such groups. The word "round" here doesn't really make much sense. It might mean that you can get some money from one VC group and some more money from another VC group. A "round" comes from the world of boxing. A "round" represents the time the boxers fight before a break in the action - usually about three minutes. The writer might be comparing a boxing round with your attempts to get money from various groups - each attempt could be seen as a "round".
