Are these correct? If not, why?
1. There is a change of plans. (If this correct, why?)
2. There are a change of plans. (If this is incorrect, why? #3 is correct?)
3. There are a few apples.
Thanks.
1 & 3 are correct- we think of 'change' as singular here, but 'few' behaves differently- it goes with a plural.
