Could you please tell me whether the word order in the following sentence is correct (especially the collocation "infer from sth that sth is true):

It is therefore not possible to infer from an e-mail message from the client’s employee stating that we are glad to have been awarded the contract that the purchase contract was concluded.

For me the word order is okay here. The sentence looks grammatically and logically fine. However, the way it stands, it is a long and difficult to understand sentence - I would try to rephrase it, for the sake of clearness.

I agree that it requires amendment for clarity.

It is therefore not possible to infer that the purchase contract was concluded from an e-mail message from the client’s employee stating that we (they?) are glad to have been awarded the contract.

We have received an email from the client stating that they are glad to have been awarded the contract. Nevertheless, we cant infer from this that the contract has been concluded.
