Question verb tense

Hello, would you help me on this? I need to know what kind of verbs are "Žd" and "would" on this song text:

Billy-Ray was a Preacher's son,
And when his daddy would visit he'd come along,
When they gathered round and started talking,
That's when Billy would take me walking,
Through the back yard we'd go walking,
Then he'd look into my eyes,
Lord knows to my suprise

Would here is being used with the meaning used to for past habitual actions.
