    Default using to instead of for

    I wonder if in this sentence: My family means everything to me. To can be replaced by for
    in order to mean one`s attitude or reaction to something, opinion or feeling about something.

    'Means' is usually followed by 'to' (a person). 'Means for ' (a person) is unheard of.
