    Default use of could be and should be

    Hi,

    I want to know difference between using " could be" and " should be" or "could" or "should"

    "Could" means that it is possible.

    "Should" means that it is necessary, obligatory or mandatory (either legally or morally.

    I could go shopping this afternoon = I can (and might) go shopping this afternoon.

    I should go shopping this afternoon = It's actually quite important that I go shopping this afternoon.

    You could give money to charity = You are able to to do so, you have enough money to do so, you CAN do so

    You should give money to charity = It's important that you do so.
