When two words are connected by "and" does it take a singular verb?
Is not it a mistake to say about a person : move over you have taken too much space/room/place.
Are these sentences correct and if they are not could you explain me why please:
Something was different with this house.
There was something unusual with it.
Is it not a mistake to say to a person : move over, you have taken up too much spaceIs not it a mistake to say about a person : move over you have taken up too much space

There was something unusual about it.
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
