Learning words can be very difficult and boring. What you should try to do is to use the words- that way they will become easier to remember. By the way, take a look at these: i fell very tired and boring- I feel very tired and bored i have a lots of newword- I have lots of new words (It's better to use a capital letter for 'I' when writing in the internet- chat and SMS are different)

How would it be if you could learn English while beating up goblins in a multiplayer RPG video game? See my thread: http://www.usingenglish.com/forum/sh...9642#post59642 Let me know how you feel about learning through such a video game.

Find something that makes you happy, like reading or sports or movies or video games, and do it in English. It's a start.

Good Question~~! I think I have got the same problem. I mean I like reading English books and watching movies with English subtitles. I also like to chat with someone in English. However, I find that to use English is one thing to deal with grammar is another. Unfortunately, as a non-English background person, I do always concern about if I don’t use the grammar properly and, as a result, it really make my extremely tired. For example, many English study books in Chinese try to make the readers memorize the “Five Basic Patterns in Sentence Construction” rather than feel and use English. Frankly speaking, although I’ve get 755 points in TOEIC, I can never understand what the “Five Basic Patterns in Sentence Construction” is… Anyway, English is still fun to use, so…. keep studying….

I find memorizing by the whole sentences rather than by words helps. One example is to make up sentences you'd use in situations you can think of, have it corrected by the respected experts in this forum, and just memorize it. Althought it could be just as boring, the practice takes care of many grammatical difficulties. You get to the point where you don't really think about grammar anymore. English may start becoming fun by then. Last edited by HaraKiriBlade; 05-May-2005 at 00:11.
