| I´m studying English at university and am doing a course which is called "Discriptive Grammar" at the moment. Somehow I have some difficulties understanding certain things like (word order, colonel sentences, Non-Colonel Sentences, declarative sentences, Fronting, Inversion, sentence types, sentential periphery) I also have difficulties to say wether a sentence is grammatically correct or not, wether the grammar of a sentence is acceptable, appropriate.... I am looking for a good book and thought that you might be able to help me and that you might know a book which you could recommend. I have no difficulties with tenses though. Thanks a lot for your help! All best Britt |

| to have/Longamn do a thorough guide to spoken and written English. It is, however, rather expensive, but they do have a cheaper edition. Do feel free to ask any specific questions here as well. Last edited by Tdol; 05-May-2005 at 14:59. |
