Default use of "in" and "to" in the following sentence

1. He went to town

2. He has go in town

Which of the two sentences is correct.

Thanks

Default Re: use of "in" and "to" in the following sentence

He went to town.
He has gone to town.

He is in town.

With 'go', use 'to' for the destination. With 'be' use 'in'.
