is this sentence all right?
"There were two restrictions placed on me during a visit. first, i could not go anywhere in the hosital without McDonald's personnel as well as hospital personnel. That way, if i were to walk into a room and frighten a child, there was someone there to deal with the issue immediately."
i doubt if the sentence should be like "if i were to walk into a room and frighten a child, there would be someone there to deal with the issue immediately.
thank you!

If I were to walk into a room and frighten a child, Ronald McDonald would jump out of a closet with a Happy Meal, thus beginning the child on the endless path of eating fatty foods as a comforter.
