Can someone please tell me; does Moniza Alvi use metaphor in 'Presents from my aunts in Pakistan'? and if so, where?

Candy-striped glass bangles
snapped, drew blood.

Did they actually draw blood? I don't think so,\so this is metaphorical in its description of the appearance, unlike the comparison 'glistening like an orange split open', which is a simile.
