25 kilometre peg
Hello. What does the 25 kilometre peg means in this context?
Please help! Thank you.
I hate the classroom at lunchtime, because that's when you notice the smells like little kids have peed their pants.
Each day I can hardly wait to get out of the place. But then the little kids get on the bus after school and I don't get away from teh stink until the 25 kilometre peg.

until the 25th kilometer.
That is what I've found:
peg:
3. A degree or notch, as in estimation: Our opinion of him went up a few pegs after he did the dishes. (from peg: Definition, Synonyms from Answers.com)
5. A step; a degree; esp. in the slang phrase "To take one down a peg." [1913 Webster] (from Definition of Peg from dictionary.net)
