What would an example of a sentence with a verb group that contains a modal and is marked with past and perfect tense... very stuck... examples of each would be helpful xx
the second one :D
Good, because (I think) the first one is impossible.
Are you sure you can't come up with an example? I think you can; give it a try.
I have been sat here since 9 this morning doing a lot of work and have been able to come up with most things i need... this is something that I just can't think of! :( give me some clues haha
I _____ _____ invited him, but he _____ not in town.
I could have invited him, but he was/is not in town??
Is that correcto mundo??
I'm not sure if you saw my post before you posted back. Is 'could' the modal, does 'have' make it perfect tense and 'was' make it past tense?
Thank you for your help!
