| I think you can say very united, but a better adjective for what you have in mind is close-knit. The name of the physician is pathologist. :) |

| There's also the 'coroner', who decides on the cause of death. |

| I think coroner is an official title. The coroner's office is established by law. Any pathologist can determine the cause of death, but a coroner is desinnated by law to investigate suspicious deaths. :) |
