Default Rose

Dear teachers,

I have a question concerning English culture:

I reading a story. In the story a man send a white rose each day to a girl who was hospitalized. So my questions are:

1. (In Englishi culture) Should people send white roses to people, say friends, relatives, colleagues) who are sick?

2. Or do they only send white roses to those people who are sick and whom they love or appreciate?

3. As far as I know people send red roses to their loved ones. Now white roses. Then what about pink rose, yellow rose? Is there a rule as to different roses should be sent to people on different occasion?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thank you in advance.

Jiang

No rules about white roses. Maybe he sent white ones to distance himself from romance.
