'Your letters' section in newspaper editorial

Re the “putting teachers down” letter, May 15: I must admit it’s been some time since I have read a Sun but I am pleased to see that your readers and editorial department are still bashing teachers. I would have thought that with the defeat of your beloved provincial Conservatives you would have given it a rest. Great to see the perseverance. Bottom line — teachers are not hard done by, they really don't do anything. And just think, very soon, they will have another two months to keep doing a whole lot of nothing. What a life. Glad I’m a teacher.

1. What does the boldened part mean?

2. 'They will have another two months to keep doing a whole not of nothing.' - is the letter writer referring to the coming summer break?

3. Just came up with this question while writing question no.2 - what's the difference between 'coming' and 'upcoming'? I guess I could've said 'the upcoming summer break', eah? Or is one preferable over the other, and if so, which one?

3 I think they both can be used. I tend to think of 'upcoming' as pretty soon.
