(1) I think that native speakers often put adverbs (such as "never")
where they think it sounds best to their ears.
(2) Since you are a learner, maybe you might want to follow this
rule that many people like:
If you have two auxiliary verbs ("would" and "have"), put the
adverb in the middle:
I would + NEVER + have + done it.
(3) If you REALLY want to emphasize "never," I think you could
say:
I NEVER + would have done it.
