    Default I know not

    Are these sentences correct:
1-That man has written I don't know how many books.
2-That man has written I know not how many books.

Do they imply that he has written a lot of books, or just mean that I don't know the number of books he has written?

    Default Re: I know not

IMO it implies he has written so many that it is hard to estimate the exact number. In speaking, I would probably pause before the 'I don't know' or 'I know not' parts.
