how to call a teacher in the university
If a man teaches a course in the university, how to call him?
He is my ___ for math.
instructor or lecturer or tutor or others?
If he is an associate professor, can I say he is my associate professor for math?
If he don't teach any course of mine but is responsible for directing or advising on my course project, how to call him?
Thank you in advance.

instructor or lecturer or tutor or others? This depends on the country, the school and the local customs. You could call him a: Instructor, lecturer, teacher, professor, teaching assistant (TA), and other names. You would only refer to him as a tutor if he only taught you.
What should be used if I refer to a teacher in a public university in the USA?

An associate professor is a title that is of concern to the school and the professor. You would not generally call someone by that name.
So what can I call him?
If he don't teach any course of mine but is responsible for directing or advising on my course project, how to call him?
An advisor is the general term.
Thank you in advance.
