Arrow Vocab. learning Methods

Dear teachers /Instructors,

I'm looking for a method, easing the learning of new vocabulary.

I found some like G5 or ... but I'm curious to know if there are any other

efficient technics for learning vocab. in the form of daily programs.

Thanks in advance

I don't honestly think there's some magic method- just practice, recycling, record keeping and enough deidcation to do it over time- vocab is a long-term effort.

I honestly think that we have to fall back on sheer hard work, dedication and spacing. In the last year, I have had to try to learn two Asian languages, not related, and each word is a separate conquest- a Japanese word I learn today, I forget tomorrow. I just keep banging away. i'm afraid I can't do much better than that as advice.

It's OK. The other language was Khmer- I spent some months in Cambodia.

Here's my two cents worth. ( I hope it's worth a little more than that.) Write down the new words on a handy scrap of paper, but later transfer them to a well-organized vocabulary notebook. Avoid translation. Use drawings or word associations to remember the meanings. Relate the words to people you know or situations you have experienced. Write a sentence showing how the word or expression is used. Try to learn word pairs such as antonyms.
open - close
narrow - wide
remember - forget
Take a look at your vocabulary notebook at least once a week. Be persistent and your efforts will pay off.

Hi

In your reply you mentioned "Avoid translation".

But I think it can help.Becaue It avoids long definitions and so on.

Is it a good suggestion we use both synonyms and translations?

Thanks
