Default "I broke my leg skiing." is it correct ?

Is "I broke my leg skiing" correct ?
I think it is but could someone tell why, if this is true ?

and what about "I sang driving ?"
I think this is wrong, but again, why ?
is it because there are two verbs one after another, which makes it sound awkward ?

thanks a lot

I broke my leg skiing is correct.
You have a combination of two actions:
short = you broke your leg
long action = you were skiing

you can also say:

I broke my leg while skiing.

The Adverb While is left out because of the use of two simultaneous actions: short and long.

Your second sentence:
"I sang driving" does not sound correct. Singing suggests a long action and it can't go together with another long action verb "driving" without separating them with the adverb "while".
