Question HOW TO CORRECT THE SENTENCE

"This being Easter Sunday, we will ask Mrs. Lewis to come forward and lay an egg on the alter. "
I know where the humor is in above church joke, but I I don't know how to correct the sentence, and let the the sentence becomes normal, could you tell me how to rewrite it.
By the way, because I am Taiwanese ,please correct the above massage (if any). Thank you .

You're welcome, tien-sung. Leave a space after your punctuation marks, not before them.
