Hello teachers,
Would you be able to tell me when I should use "said" and "told" in reported speech?

Re: Need advice on Reported Speech, thanks, teachers!
'Told' is followed by a pronoun or proper noun, and 'said' isn't:
He told us he wasn't coming.
He said he wasn't coming.
'Told' is also used for orders and instructions, followed by an infinitive:
He told us to stop.
