Default Live in New York for three years

    Dear all

Is it okay just to say, "I live in New York for three years" when you mean you have lived there for three years? It can be a basic question, but I'm not sure if it's totall wrong or acceptable....

    OP

    Thank you!

if you were in New York for three years, it was in the past. It would have to be, "I lived in New York for three years."
