Hi there,
I read this announcement 'Please queue up for the next available service counter.' and feel confused. I think the writer wanted to mean that there are at least two counters and people will wait in line, so if one counter is busy, people can go to another counter. I don't know how to change it to mean that. Or just simply 'Please line up here for a service counter.'??

To me, it means what you want it to mean.
"Please queue here ..." would be better, since it gives customers some idea about where they should queue up while waiting for a free counter.
