it vs. this Dear All,
Suppose that you have invited guests for dinner and they have a second helping. When they leave you say to your spouse:
They all had a second helping. It/This means that the food was delicious.
Which is the better option here?

We'd be more likely to say, "They all had a second helping. That means that the food was delicious."
