beachboy, I think 'hazing' would be a stronger word to use than 'ragging'.
'Hazing' would include anything that causes embarrassment, harassment or ridicule. 'Ragging', to me, refers only to a barrage of verbal attacks.
It would be difficult for me to understand why anyone would leave a university simply because they encountered 'ragging'. Being 'hazed' would be a more compelling reason to leave.
