Dear teachers.
I am confused between two words "advertisements" and "advertising".
I don't know how to use them in sentences.
For example in the sentence:" Newspapers and magazines are full of advertising."
Why don't we use"advertisements" instead of "advertising"
Please help me.
Thanks.
'Advertising' is a term that refers to the industry and the concept of boosting sales this way, but not to the individual items. In your sentence, we could use either, though I would be more likely to use 'advertisements' there.
