the different between report text and narrative text?

Not a teacher only a native speaker.
I would say report text is informative, telling you the result of an event and also offers analysis on what occured. This is probably more formal.
Narrative text I would say is just describing what happened, perhaps in an entertaining way, such as in a story book.
For example
Narrative: John's car swerved suddenly, skidding across the road until he came to a crashing stop when he hit a wall.
Report: John had a serious car crash and hit a wall. This was due to ice on the road which John did not see.
Or
Narrative: The red balloon effortlessly floated up into the air, swaying to-and-fro in the wind. The blue balloon however, resolutely remained on the ground.
Report: The red balloon floated up into the air because it was filled with helium, which is lighter than air. The blue ballon remained on the ground as it was filled with water, which is heavier than air.
Like I said, I'm not a teacher (one day hopefully) but I hope that helps.
