Are the following words acceptable in standard English ?
1. Shophouse ( e.g. a row of houses/buildings that contain sundry shops , mini-market , " five & dime " , convenience store,etc )
2. Last time (e.g. Last time I was a rich girl )
Thanks.

I found shophouse in only one online dictionary. Curiously, the word is from Malaysia. A shophouse is a shop with the shopkeeper's living quarters above it.

As for last time, that is two words. Example:
- He wasn't there the last time I went there.
That worked the last time I tried it.
The last time I used that toaster it burned the toast.
That's the last time I'll do that.
:)
2. Last time (e.g. Last time I was a rich girl )
For what it's worth, I think it should be: Before, I was a rich girl.

I'd be tempted to use 'I used to be a rich girl'.![]()
