Would you be kind enough to tell me whether I am right with my interpretation of the expression in bold in the following sentence?
We shall come through all right; all we’ve got to do is to sit tight until the storm has blown itself out.
sit tight = be patient, take no action

Yes, you're right but it can have a more literal meaning - sit still, stay where you are.
