up to scratch
I've got two questions regarding the following sntence.
1. Is it correct?
2. Is the expression '' up to scratch '' American or British?
If it to belongs to one of the said categories, does it mean that the people from the other country never use it in their conversation or writing?
My grammer was up to scratch but not perfect.
Re: up to scratch
It's certainly used in BrE. Whether that's where it originated or not, I'm not sure.
