Default many or much

Hello,

here I am again

I usually don't have any problems with the usige of "many" and "much". But the following sentence is really confusing to me.

There are many sorts of seafood like prawns, crabs, mussels and many more.

I think that "many more" sounds very odd. Why is "much more" wrong here?

All the best,
Dany

It refers back to the plural 'sorts', not 'seafood'.
